013 - [locked to DATS Commanders]

Commanders Satsuma, Yushima, and Daimon -

A couple days ago, the Area Leader Scorpiomon and his gang were attacked by an Ultimate Digimon called Gryphomon. Though Scorpiomon was greatly injured, he's alive.

Gryphomon was fended off by Viral, two 'Gundams' named Zero and Bakunetsumaru, as well as a young woman we have yet to verify the identity of, and all their partners. Viral and the Gundams have joined us on the Halberd.

Before I continue, I have to ask you a question.

Gryphomon was after something called a "Tag" from Scorpiomon.

Does this ring any bells?

I knew contacting you guys first of all about this was a good idea. Had a suspicion if anyone knew anything about this, it'd be you guys.

The thing is, Gryphomon never would have retrieved Scorpiomon's Tag.

Because I've had it myself for several weeks.

... This couldn't have come at a better time, Simon. Did Scorpiomon tell you anything about the Tags' power?

He said it was the key to unlocking the "Shining Evolution."

That would be the power to evolve to the Ultimate level... which was sealed away beneath Imperialdramon's sword, on Draco Island.

The Tags, when gathered, will give us, and all digimon, the power to evolve to the Ultimate level again.

It is a dangerous... and risky think to awaken.

Heh...

It's already far beyond that, Commander Daimon. Viral and the others, from what I've been told, only seemed to be able to fend of Gryphomon because his power seemed weakening for some reason. I don't think that's hardly going to be the case with all the other Ultimates waiting to face us down.

The Demon Kings. Diablomon. Possibly Omegamon, and who knows what else? We have many enemies that already have FAR greater power than us.

The danger is giving our OTHER enemies that same power?

Heh. So be it.

We're already fighting these bastards on equal terms now, that much won't change, and once they find out about these things they're sure enough going to try and do the very same thing. And there are guys right now TRYING to get them that do NOT need their hands on them.

Regardless of what you decide to do, I know what I'm going to do, and if it's against reason? Then "reason" can go straight to hell. With what we're facing, what HAS to be defeated, we can't do it as we are now. All I can do with any indecision I might have, right now...

Just kick it to the curb, do what needs to be done, and power on through. If the impossible dares to try and stand in my way, I'll just break it down and MAKE it possible! There's no telling what something like the Dark Area may be able to do with these Tags if they get their hands on them, so there's no way in hell I'm just gonna sit by idle and let them get their way.

The worst mistake we could make NOW is NOT doing something.

As it is, though, I'll hold onto my Tag. If their power is being gathered together, we don't want to make it easy for them if they decide to come after US. We should keep them as separate as possible, for now.

... Though, I'm curious about your thoughts on a certain matter. All of the tags were to be guarded by a specific Area Leader.

We found the Beast Tag in, of all places, Kurata's base.

Apparently the base has been completely demolished. But we'll do what we can. There was a recovery operation there, by Kurata's forces, but somehow... it got destroyed.

What we need to do NOW is assess what Tags we're missing, and who to approach.

Like I said, we need to keep the Tags separate, so we... probably won't be coming to Royal Base anytime soon. At least, not all of us, depending on everything that happens, and not with the Tag, no matter what.

I'll make sure the Insect Tag's always in the hands of someone trustworthy, though.

Even if in the end it makes no difference who brings all the Tags together, it would be a propaganda victory for the Dark Area if they are the ones who bring them there.

We might know what'll happen if we gather them and use them as they're intended, but there's no telling what the Dark Area's really capable of.

Exactly. Besides, if Gryphomon's any indication, these guys aren't going to have the nicest methods of getting their hands on these things, eh?

Even if Gryphomon was fought back, though... we've gotta consider we'll be in competition with Ultimates to get these things. Others might not be as easy to beat back. He might not be again. There's a lot we don't know.

... What can you tell us about the woman who was there? Did Scorpiomon's subordinates reveal anything?

From what I was told, she was some type of magic user. Blonde, wore black, and wielded some type of... staff weapon that her attacks were channeled through. Her partner was a Raidramon.

It may get to be the case that we get everyone we've got, agents or not, to help. But the fact you and your allies are willing to help us with this is comforting.

Let us hope that our other allies will be as willing to aid us if the time comes to ask for their help as well.
